About the Artwork
This series of soft sculptures is titled "Wondering Spirits" and was created as a special commission for the University of Pittsburgh Art Gallery's exhibition called "Andrey Avinoff: Fantastic Visions". The sculptures were designed to be in conversation with Avinoff's works. I engaged with the University Archives to gather reference material and get inspired from Avinoff's personal files and sketches. Each sculpture explores a different facet of his life and his art
