Tori Riopelle

Tori Riopelle is a new artist aiming to explore the rich history of Washington, D.C., and the magnificent buildings and structures that form the backbone of its unique story. She aims to encourage people to look beyond the ordinary and to recognize the buildings and structures of their cities not solely as functional spaces, but as beautiful, lasting works of art in their own right, each with a unique story to tell. All of her designs are original sketches brought to life by watercolor. Her work is dedicated to her mother who recently passed away. She was both an architect and a passionate history enthusiast with a love for all forms of art.

Jyoti Indian Cuisine

Jyoti, which is derived from Sanskrit meaning “light,” The culture of India is the way of living of the people of India. India's languages, religions, dance, music, architecture, food, and customs differ from place to place within the country. The Indian culture, often labeled as an amalgamation of several cultures, spans across the Indian subcontinent and has been influenced by a history that is several millennia old. Many elements of India's diverse cultures, such as Indian religions, Indian philosophy, and Indian cuisine, have had a profound impact on the world.

Indian cuisine encompasses a wide variety of regional and traditional cuisines native to India. Given the range of diversity in soil type, climate, culture, ethnic group, and occupations, these cuisines vary significantly from each other and use locally available spices, herbs, vegetables, and fruits. Indian food is also heavily influenced by religious, cultural choices and traditions. There has also been Middle Eastern and Central Asian influence on North Indian cuisine from the years of Mughal rule. Indian cuisine has been and is still evolving, as a result of the nation's cultural interactions with other societies.
